IEH-BioVir merger with ASI and IEH-JLA effective April 30, 2020

Dear IEH-BioVir client:

We hope you, your teams, and your families are keeping safe and well during these challenging times.  

This notice is to inform you that, effective 4/30/2020, IEH-BioVir Laboratories (BioVir) is transferring its operations to its IEH Laboratories & Consulting Group laboratory network partners:

• IEH-JL Analytical (JLA, Modesto, CA) and
• Analytical Services, Inc. (ASI, Williston, VT). 

We are proud of BioVir’s record of service to the water, wastewater and reclaimed water industry and we will continue to provide the same excellent service you have received over the years.  As we wind down BioVir’s operations, we will shift the work as follows:

• Coliforms and other short hold-time bacterial analyses will be performed at JLA.
• Other samples (algae, biosolids, coliphage, Legionella, LT2 (Crypto. & E. coli), protozoa, viruses, water reuse, etc.) will be analyzed at ASI.

We realize many of you have samples scheduled to be shipped to BioVir the weeks beginning 4/19 and 4/26 - please contact JLA or ASI (see contact information below) to make arrangements.

As indicated above, ASI will be assuming the majority of BioVir's workload. BioVir and ASI both joined the IEH Laboratories & Consulting Group family of companies in 2014. Since that time, ASI and BioVir management and staff have worked closely together, collaborating on project design and execution, allocating samples between labs to maximize capacity and technical expertise and mutually supporting each others' operations. As many of you are aware, over the past year ASI has taken on an ever-increasing component of BioVir's workload which will make the upcoming transition as seamless as possible. "Team IEH" values each one of BioVir's clients and the critical work that you do.

ASI is a NELAC accredited, USEPA Approved, CDC ELITE certified environmental microbiology laboratory that has provided comprehensive microbiological testing since 1993.  Specializing in water, wastewater and reclaimed water services, ASI's services include: 

• Algae - Enumeration and Identification
• Biosolids Pathogens - 40 CFR Part 503; Fecal Coliform, Salmonella, viable helminth ova, viruses
• Coliphage - Enumeration and stocks for spiking
• Cryptosporidium & Giardia - Water, Wastewater; LT2 Approved in >25 states, including CA)
• Legionella - CDC Culture and ISO methods; CDC ELITE and NYS-DOH certified
• Microscopic Particulate Analysis (MPA) - for Wells (GWUDI) and Filter Plant Optimization (FPO)
• Product Validation Testing – Microbial/Viral Challenge Testing
• Reclaimed Water (DPR/IPR) - Protozoa (EPA 1693), Virus (EPA 1615), Coliphage (EPA 1602/Adams), etc.
• Virus Analyses - Cell culture and qPCR; adenovirus, enterovirus, norovirus, etc.
