Microscopic
Particulate Analysis (MPA)
BioVir has been performing the
Microscopic Particulate Analysis
(MPA) method for many years.
The MPA, used primarily helping
determine whether a ground water
is under the influence of surface
water (GWUI), utilizes a
combination of direct microscopy
and fluorescence assay. A
large sample volume (500 to 1000
gallons) is filter concentrated
and sent to the laboratory for
analysis.
Microscopic
Particulate Analysis Filtration
Performance Optimization (MPAFPO)
The
MPAFPO method utilizes all of the
aspects of the MPA plus particle
counting. Its primary
function is to determine how well
a filter (typically surface water)
is working by comparing data
developed from raw influent with
effluent samples.
